Louise Haigh MP visits Woodlands Primary
Last week, the pupils at Woodlands Primary School received a visit from Louise Haigh MP.
A group of around eight pupils were given the fantastic opportunity of speaking directly to their local MP (and now Transport Secretary) on issues that affect them daily, including some questions about favourite ice cream and football clubs!
We were really impressed with the sorts of questions the group came up with and how well they presented these questions. We had a range from "what does your job as an MP involve?" to "how are you going to work to improve the lives of children living in this area?".
There was also an opportunity for Louise to look at the new Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) in the school, as well as the fantastic improvements that have been made to our nursery.
Neil Miley and Mark Bennett (new headteacher at Woodlands) were also able to speak directly to Louise on the issues affecting the education sector, as well as the transport issues some of our pupils face daily.
